Here at Flying Pigeon LA, the Southern California home of the world’s most popular bicycle, we have quickly turned into the go-to spot for beautiful and functional city bikes from around the world. Right now, we’ve got a show room floor packed with some sparkling examples of the finest city bikes produced in the world. What’s more, we’re putting these smart looking bikes on sale, with a $50 discount on every dutch bike in the store (until the end of August, offer good in-store, local delivery or pickup only)!
What have we got for sale?
For starters, we’ve got three Gazelle Toer Populair’s (T3 model, step-through frame only) in stock, the smoothest riding, and most fit-for-royalty, bike in the bunch. You’ll walk out with the Mercedes Benz of bicycles for $1,349 (plus tax).
Following that up is small fleet of the brilliantly engineered Batavus bicycles (bitter rivals with Gazelle, by the way) we keep in stock:
Classic Single Speed Old Dutch step-through frame bicycles. These gorgeous “omafiets” (grandma bikes) are normally $749 – now only $699! Single speed w. coaster brake; 50cm or 56cm frame sizes; available in a variety of colors.
The all-round 3-speed bike, aka the Batavus Diva. Three speeds, hub dynamo powered light, aluminium frame (to lighten things up a bit); available in 50cm and 56cm frame sizes; white or pink color schemes. This bike retails for $1,200. We’re going a little crazy with these, and are going to let them go for $1149.
We’ve also got understated, functional, and smooth as silk covered as well with both classic and step-through version of the Batavus 1-2 Have. These drum brake equipped (perfect for all-weather performance), 3-speed, matte black bikes are a best seller at Flying Pigeon LA. They are perfect for cruising into a meeting and making your coworkers jealous for enjoying your commute so darn much, they also work well after hours out on the town and dressed up a bit. The 1-2 Have normally retails for $869 – we’re going to sell ‘em for $819 (until supplies run out this month). Three speeds; drum brakes; step-through available in 50cm and 56cm; classic available in 56cm or 60cm; matte black only.
The next two bikes we’re putting on sale we are incredibly proud to carry in the store, for they reflect the adaptability, thrift, and sound engineering of a good Dutch-made bicycle.
I’m referring to the show-stopping Batavus Fryslan and the Batavus Breukelen.
The Fryslan 5-Speed, a creme-walled, glossy black, classic Dutch bike ready for North American city riding, normally retails for $969 – we’re selling ours for $919 until the end of the month. The Frsylan is available in a couple of different frame sizes: step-through 50cm and 56cm and classic.
The Breukelen aluminium 7-Speed bike is a sprawl eating machine. It is an understated looking bike free of excessive decals, with classic Dutch geometry, that packs in tons of features to make your urban bike riding trouble free: dynamo lights, drum brakes, 7-speed shifter, and all the trim that comes standard on Dutch bikes. The Breukelen comes in a variety of sizes and configurations (step-through 53cm and 56cm; classic 54cm or 58cm) and normally retails for $1,149, we’re going to knock $50 off of our normal prices and sell these (for the month of August only) for $1,099.
Here is the deal with the $50 discount on Dutch bicycles for our Mijn God! Dutch bike sale! August 2009 sale: in store, local delivery, or pickup only; this discount applies to orders placed during the month of August (if you want a size or color we don’t have in the store that day we’ll order, ship and assemble your bike for no additional charge); prices listed above do not include the applicable local sales tax which is 9.75%.
