Changes as of October 16th

* We have adjusted a few things on the ride, Most importantly the cost.  $15 for the house tour, food to be about $15 per person.

* Meet at the Flying Pigeon Shop at 3PM on Saturday ready to take the train to Pasadena and ride to the Gamble House.  House tour of the downstairs of the house at 3:30pm.

* Same ride as before but we are changing the restaurant to Briganti in South Pasadena and then riding back to the shop

Flying Pigeon LA and Friends of the Gamble House celebrate Craftsmen Weekend in SoCal with a Gamble House to the Raymond on a Pigeon Bike Tour
Cost:  $75  (Includes sit down dinner at the Raymond, Tour of the Gamble House, Rear light for safety, bottled water and drinks as well as ride map and tour guide). Ride limited to 25 attendees.

Join FOGH board member and local bicycle shop owner, Adam Bray-Ali for this special Craftsman Weekend Bicycle tour from the Gamble House, through the Arroyo Terrace neighborhood and to the Hillcrest area of Pasadena before enjoying a delicious California style dinner at the Raymond Restaurant in South Pasadena.  After dinner we will ride back through the Oaklawn areas and back to the Gamble House.

Learn a little Pasadena architecture history in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, get a little cardio and an exquisite dining experience.
This multi hour bicycle trip begins with a tour of the first floor of the Gamble House.
Followed by a Greene and Greene bicycle ride from the Gamble House to the Hillcrest Area
and then the exquisite Raymond Restaurant for a three course dinner.

After dinner we will coast down the hill to the Oaklawn Bridge before heading northwest along Pasadena Avenue, through Old Town and back to the Gamble House.

To link the South Pasadena Oaklawn housing development and a main thoroughfare, Fair Oaks Avenue, Charles and Henry Greene designed their only bridge in 1906. Itinerary: October 17th, Saturday  3:30pm – 8:15pm

3:15 – Meet at the Gamble House.
3:30 – Special tour of the Gamble House.
4:15 – Leave the house and cruise along the Arroyo Terrace neighborhood, stopping at the Duncan Irwin House and more.
5:30 – Gather at the Raymond, no host bar.
6:00 – Begin three course dinner on the lawn of the restaurant.
7:30 – Dinner over, we head a bit South and then into the Oaklawn area and then head North back to the house
8:15 – Pass through Old Town, some riders may opt to stay there.
8:30 – Ride concludes back at the Gamble House.

This special tour is expected to sell out quickly.

Flying Pigeon has a limited number of Batavus, Gazelle and Flying Pigeon bikes available for rent at $40 per bike including all delivery and pickup.  You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own bicycle but please make sure it is ready to ride. Our ride pace will range between slightly faster than walking and top out with whatever gravity assisted speed we can muster on downhill sections.  This is a ride made for everyone and we will all ride as a group.

The Gamble House and Friends of the Gamble House are not hosting or involved in this ride except as venues for our tour and providing a wonderful backdrop to the evening.  All profits from the ride will be donated to the Friends of the Gamble House.
