I don’t know if I can get more excited about this, but NIHOLA CIGAR CARGO BIKES WILL SOON BE IN LOS ANGELES!!!
Whew. I can’t believe I went all caps on that. The nihola bicycles will be arriving at Flying Pigeon LA some time in early to mid-January.
I hope that conveys how momentous a moment this is for our city, the model of so much car-focused urban planning.
Niels Larson began building his special cargo bicycles 11 years ago in Copenhagen, Denmark. 6,000 units later, the “Nihola” (a contraction of Niels’ name) is a class of bicycle unto itself – lightweight, yet capable of hauling the babies and the groceries home, made of the highest quality components, stable and easy to ride.
No babies to haul? How about a big dog or two? No dogs in your family? The nihola has got room for a full keg, or some wine cases, or a few bags of chicken feed for your urban garden, some turf, or whatever else you’d stick into the trunk of a car and haul home.
For full specifications of the different versions of the bikes, please refer to the Nihola Cigar Family web-page.
You can taste a bit more of the bakfiets-based excitement over on TAKEOVER LA, a blog run by my firend Mikey Walley, in a recent post entitled, “Bakfiets coming to LA“.
The bikes we’re to be receiving were produced in Nihola’s Berlin factory (one of the three Nihola fabrication plants in Europe). They will arrive sometime in early to mid-January.
We’re taking bookings for these amazing cargo bikes, but supplies are quite limited – give us a ring at 213-909-8986 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
