We were so busy in the shop on Wedensday, December 2, 2009 that we missed two reports on public radio that featured prominent cycling advocates from the Los Angeles cycling scene.

The first report, “‘Road Rage’ Case Highlights Cyclist Vs. Driver Tension“, was put together by Mandalit del Barco, and covered the July 4, 2008 Mandeville Canyon road rage incident that put two cyclists in the hospital and the car driver who hurt them in jail. This NPR report on cycling features cycling advocates Stephen Box, Enci Box , Ted “bikinginla.com” Rogers, and Alex Thompson (co-founder of the BikeRoWave).

The second report aired on December 2, 2009 on KPCC’s Air Talk with Larry Mantle in a subsection of the show entitled, “Sundays Are For Cycling” and featured commentary by the team at C.I.C.L.E. regarding the “CicLAvia”. CicLAvia is a special event that would close sections of arterial roads in LA on Sunday morning to cars, and open them to bike riders, rollerbladers, walkers, and all sorts of other fun things. I cannot think of anything more likely to change to over-arching political views people have about cycling, and hopefully after listening to this show you’ll feel the same way.
