Flying Pigeon LA is hosting the Get Sum Dim Sum Ride again this Sunday, October 26, 2008. This week, we’re doing a victory lap of sorts by returning to the first dim sum house we visited oh so many weeks ago: Empress Pavillion in Chinatown.
[Update 10/24/08: We have reserved all of our loaner bikes for this Sunday’s ride! It looks like this is going to be one of our largest rides yet! If you’re bringing your own bike, you’re still welcome to join us. ]
Meet us on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 10 a.m. (ride leaves at 10:30 a.m.) at 3404 N. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90042. We roll at 10:30 a.m.
If you don’t have a bike, we’ll let you use one of ours (free of charge). To help us limit the time waiting at the restaurant, please leave a note for us below so we can give a heads up to the folks who run the dim sum house we will visit. Make sure to bring some cash to pay for the dim sum ($15 ought to do it) and look forward to some good times with some good food.
A few minor things: If you’re bringing your own bike, make sure it works! If you bring a young son or daughter, they should wear a bike helmet (anyone under 18 is required to wear a helmet in California), unless, of course, you want a ticket from a bored cop on a Sunday morning.

Hi, We’d like to join you on the dim sum ride this Sunday, Oct 26. There will be 2 of us, and we will bring our own bikes. Just one question: Is there a safe place to lock up our bikes at the restaurant?
Thank you.
Donna
Hey there,
There will be 5 of us showing up Sunday — all first timers! We have our own bikes. Can’t wait…
Mike
Hi, RSVPing for 3 people and would like to reserve 3 bikes, please. (We’ll bring 2 bikes of our own just in case there’s a shortage- we don’t want anyone to be excluded but we’d love to give your bikes a spin if possible.) Thanks, looking forward to it!
Hello,
That “Mike” guy was only 80% right. I’m in his group, but I’d like to reserve a bike, please. Preferrably a fast one. Looking forward to it. Thanks!
Whoa nelly! We are all booked up for this Sunday for loaner bikes.
