I Gold Sprint LA is a gold sprint race to raise money for the AIDS/Life Cycle.

This Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at the Flying Pigeon LA bike shop, Team Midnight Ridazz and Long Beach Gold Sprint will put on a Goldsprint race to raise funds for the AIDS/Lifecycle.

Winners of the mini-tournament will win some sick shwag, revelers will be allowed to revel, and we’re hoping that film night at the Bike Oven (next door) will be playing to a packed house.

There is a bit of information available about the event available in a Midnight Ridazz forum post for I Goldsprint LA.

What is a Goldsprint, exactly? Wikipedia has this definition:

“A Goldsprint is a bicycle rollers racing and social event. Riders on stationary bikes compete against each other in front of a crowd of cheering friends.”
– “Goldsprints” via Wikipedia, May 16, 2009

The event kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Midnight rida Trickmilla will be bumping some tunes. Flying Pigeon LA is a bike shop located at 3404 N. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90065 that specializes in classic city bicycles, cargo bikes, and goldsprints (apparently?).
