Get Sum Dim Sum Ride – November 15th

This weekend brings many great things to the FlyingPigeon shop in Cypress Park.  We have some great new inventory items, a slew of delicious new drinks in our beverage fridge and best of all, two great rides this weekend.

First up is the Saturday night Spoke(n) Art ride.
Second is the third Sunday Dim Sum ride which for the first time happens the same weekend as a second Saturday.  Seriously, the first time ever!

This Sunday also marks the grand opening of the MTA Goldline rail extension into East Los Angeles.  Due to what we expect to be a large crowd we are not going to be taking our group on the rail line this weekend BUT we can tell you that you should absolutely get on the train this weekend and check out all the great new stops.  Our December ride will most likely involve a trip to the Eastside and we are looking at the various restaurants there with empty bellies and big eyes.

So, what about this week’s dim sum you say?

We are heading to the outskirts of Chinatown to our favorite Cold War era Chinese/American mall.  Complete with rusting elevators, stores full of inexpensive chopsticks and soup bowls and the ever famous, Empress Pavilion.

We’ll ride to the restaurant as a group, enjoy a great meal and take a quick trip down to the Chinatown metro stop to see the festivities before heading back to the shop.  Bring about $15 to cover your dim sum and if you like alcohol with your dumplings, there is a cash bar in the restaurant.

Meet the Flying Pigeon LA crew in front of the shop at 3404 N. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90065 at 10 a.m. on the 3rd Sunday of each month for a fun, slow-paced, group ride to a dim sum restaurant in the L.A. area. Meet at the shop at 10 a.m., we leave at 10:30 a.m. Bring about $15 per person to pay for the food and (possible) train fare. Bring your own bike, or borrow one of our shop bikes by making a reservation with us by calling 213-909-8986 or through our contact page: https://flyingpigeon-la.com/contact Quick notes: *Dim sum is heavy on meat-only dishes. *We ride slooowwwly – it is easier to socialize that way! *We post more detailed information for each ride on our website: flyingpigeon-la.com

Our rental bikes are all spoken for this week but if you have your own ride, please do come along.  No need to RSVP.
