Hup Holland!

Holland just beat Brazil 2-1 in the World Cup quarter finals!

Woo hoo!

The man responsible for both Dutch goals, Wesley Sneijder, is from Utrecht – which is why I’ve selected the short film above to demonstrate what else they excel at in this ancient city.

The video teases us so! If only LA streets looked like that. Their streets are so much cleaner, in that there’s less gross stuff around and there aren’t ridiculous markings/signs for EVERYTHING.

I am so very jealous. I cannot ever see anything close to this in los angeles, perhaps i am just too cynical. I can’t wait to leave this bike-killing city which will never choose humans over cars. sigh.

    ahasekh,

It really isn’t that expensive to do this sort of thing on the streets of Los Angeles. All around LA County, smaller cities are opening up bike facilities: Long Beach, Santa Monica, Burbank, and several others.

Have hope! The winds of politics are blowing in the direction of bicycles, and it is a pleasant change for those of us living in the city.
