Luscious Dumplings from Wandering Chopsticks

If it is raining at 9am on 12/91/2010 the ride will be cancelled!

This month’s Get Sum Dim Sum Ride, taking place on Sunday, December 19, 2010, we will return to Luscious Dumplings in San Gabriel for some delicious dumplings and noodle soup. We last took our group to my son’s favorite dumpling restaurant (he is a true connoisseur) almost 18 months ago. He and I stopped by again this week and I realized that we need to find a way to bring our group back to some super yummy neighborhood restaurants run by fellow cyclists!

An excellent review of Luscious Dumplings’ dishes can be found at the Wandering Chopsticks Blog.

To join us on the Get Sum Dim Sum Ride, meet at 10am on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Flying Pigeon bike shop located at 3404 N. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90065. We will depart the shop at 10:30am to the nearby Heritage Square station Gold Line Station. We’ll debark the Gold Line at the Mission Station in South Pasadena. You can meet us at the South Pasadena station at 10:45am if that is more convenient for you. We’ll ride as a group from South Pasadena to Luscious Dumplings located at 704 W. Las Tunas Dr., San Gabriel, CA 91776.

The plan is to get to the restaurant close to opening at 11am to beat the crowds. We’ll be hustling on the way there and taking the slow boat to China on the way back.

We look forward to seeing you Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 10am!

The fine print:

  • Please arrive with a functioning bicycle or make arrangements with us for a rental bike (only $10.00). No services will be available before the ride. The shop is open from 10am onwards.
  • Expect your lunch to be about $7 to $12 (max). Train fare is $1.25. Please bring cash as this restaurant does not accept any credit cards.
  • We follow all traffic rules and ride at a relaxed pace. Novice cyclists are encouraged and welcome to join. The ride distance will be between 6-10 miles total with ample stops at red lights. Helmets are encouraged but not required for adults.
  • Children are welcome and encouraged to come but please ensure they have helmets, are able to ride at a moderate pace on surface streets and able to do at least three somersaults (we will test this in the park).
