Pre-CicLAvia 5-year Anniversary Spoke(n) Art Ride on Saturday, April 9, 2011

The Spoke(n) Art Ride is rolling out once again to celebrate the arts in North East Los Angeles this Saturday, April 9, 2011. Meet at the Flying Pigeon LA bike shop at 6pm, the ride leaves at 6:30pm.

What is the Spoke(n) Art Ride?

The Spoke(n) Art bicycle ride is a free, once-a-month, bicycle tour of art galleries in North East Los Angeles. The ride takes place on the second Saturday of each month – a special night in North East Los Angeles. Area art galleries open their doors late into the night as part of NELAart’s “Gallery Night”.

We’ll visit a few galleries along the way, share the evening together, and then return to the start point for a rally ’round the pinata-thon in honor of five years of the Spoke(n) Art Ride this month’s ride represents.

Spoke' N' Art Ride - June

Crazy, five years of this ride? Yes. Five years, month after month. I’ve only missed two of them in that time. Once because my daughter was born and once because the ride was called off due to massive amounts of rain.

I don’t normally call out our stops in advance of the evening’s ride, but we’re going definitely stop by the Outpost for Contemporary Art near the intersection of Avenue 50 and York Boulevard for their t-shirt revival night.
