CicLAvia Pro Tip: BE NICE!

Fu Manchu doing "Lone Wolf and Cub" on the CicLAvia

Why do I love CicLAvia? There are so many reasons – not least of which is the powerful hippy good vibe jiujitsu the organizers perform to make the event so magic each time. To wit:

“CicLAvia is for everyone – 8-year olds and 80-year olds. Folks will be walking and skating. CicLAvia welcomes families, beginners, on foot, on skateboard, on wheelchair, on training wheels. This isn’t a race. It’s not the Tour de France or the Wolfpack Hustle (and we love those, too), this is CicLAvia. Keep an eye out for slow moving traffic, pass with care (the way you want drivers to pass you every day.) Wherever CicLAvia gets really crowded, walk your bike. If you see pedestrians trying to get across CicLAvia, help them out. (If you’re looking for a fast-paced workout ride, maybe take a long ride to and from CicLAvia – check our feeder ride listing.)”
-from “CicLAvia | Tips for Cyclists

CicLAvia is definitely NOT a race, and we are going to take full advantage of this fact to stop, stroll, play, look, gawk, chill, and fall in love with this megalopolis all over again (just like the last CicLAvia).

Want to join us on a ride to CicLAvia? Join us on our feeder ride on Sunday, October 9, 2011!

Wow! I thought it was the participants job to bring the hippy good vibe jujitsu! I’ll have to start taking credit for it! (entirely silly comment from exhaustion)

Thanks for getting the word out!
