Sturmey-Archer alloy shifters and Steel 28″ Rims at Flying Pigeon LA

Like many bike fanatics, I have been to many different bike shops. It is a rare shop that stocks some of the stuff that Flying Pigeon LA does. I thought I’d show off some of what we’ve got in our parts archive:

28" (635mm) 36-hole Steel Box Rims at Flying Pigeon LA bike shop

This is the stuff our Deluxe Flying Pigeon bicycles are made of: steel box rims we had made just for us. 36-holes – so they can fit all the great modern front and rear hubs now available on the market. Steel – so they are strong (and shiny). 28″ (or rather 635mm) – so they fit our Flying Pigeons and old roadsters from Europe and Asia.

We sell these rims (just the rim) for $20/ea.

We also build all sorts of custom wheels for our Flying Pigeons and old roadsters. Oh yeah, these rims are NOT compatible with rod brakes.

Sturmey-Archer SL-SLS30 3-speed Shifter at Flying Pigeon LA

This is an all-alloy three-speed shifter for Sturmey-Archer hubs (the SLS30). These are way, way, better than the traditional three-speed shifters that Sturmey-Archer hubs come with. These retail for $40. We also carry the SL-SLS50, a similar looking shifter, that we sell for Sturmey-Archer’s wide range 5-speed hubs.

SL-SLS30B Sturmey-Archer 3-Speed Shifter at Flying Pigeon LA bike shop

The SLS30B is a 3-speed bar-end shifter for Sturmey-Archer’s 3-speed hubs. The Flying Pigeon LA bike shop sells this shifter for $40. These are ideal for the retro- or touring-style Sturmey-Archer bike build you’ve been dreaming about. The same shifter can be adapted to fit on a downtube shifter mount – a nice touch on a refurbished racing bike conversion.

These are in stock (as of this writing), and we can get started on the custom bike build you’ve been thinking about on the day you arrive in our shop. If you’d like to have us ship these parts to you, please give us a call at 213-909-8986 or email us at info@flyingpigeon-la.com
